Navigating the Fairway: Ethical and Strategic Leadership in AI was a Women in Data DC | MD | VA Chapter event that brought together national AI leaders from AWS, Howard University, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Etzera Digital Solutions. Moderated by LaShonda C. Henderson, the conversation bridged technical expertise with ethical responsibility, focusing on how AI can be designed, deployed, and governed to serve people first.

This discussion was especially important for women in data because it created a visible platform where women’s voices could guide the AI conversation at a strategic level. Attendees gained insights into emerging AI applications, ethical frameworks, and leadership strategies, while also connecting with mentors and peers. By spotlighting accomplished women leaders in AI, the event helped demystify the technology landscape, inspire career growth, and encourage more women to enter and influence the fields of data science and artificial intelligence.

Through shared stories, practical advice, and open dialogue, Navigating the Fairway strengthened the community’s ability to not only participate in but actively shape the direction of technology — ensuring that women remain at the forefront of innovation, inclusion, and ethical leadership in AI.
